The Sunflower Festival
July 24th, 25th & 26th, 2009
You are heartily invited to attend one of the most famous and exciting events in southern Manitoba! Altona's own Sunflower Festival has been entertaining residents and visitors alike since 1964. Traditionally held during the last weekend in July, the Festival is as vibrant and colourful as it's big yellow trademark!
Our festival committee is working ahead to make this the festival you will never forget!

Besides the free pancake breakfasts and huge Saturday morning parade, there's a petting zoo, inflatable bouncers, family entertainment, sales, quilt shows, fashion shows, car shows, dancing, horse shows, baseball tournaments and more!
If you've never tried traditional Mennonite food, here's your chance! At the Rhineland Pioneer Centre a Mennonite Food Booth runs all weekend long serving up favourites like Kielka and Verenika. The highlight of every Sunflower Festival is the Saturday night stage show in the park, where the evening ends with the dramatic crowning of a new Sunflower Festival Queen. Join us in Altona for a small town celebration with BIG TIME FUN!
