When it comes to Life and Recreation, Altona has a lot to offer! We have over 40 recreational programs in place throughout the year.
We boast an Aquatic Centre where we offer swimming lessons and public swimming starting as early as mid-June, open till the first weekend in September. Altona offers 30 serviced campsites which are high in demand during the summer months.
The Millennium Exhibition Center is a new complex which was opened September 2003. Within the Millennium Exhibition Center we offer a running/walking track, skating arena, curling arena, floor curling, shuffleboard, community center, and a dance and/or concert hall which is also suitable for dinner meetings or fundraisers. Altona offers figure skating programs and hockey programs throughout the winter months starting at the beginning of October till the end of March. The Millennium Center also has a couple of meeting rooms and a curling lounge which is used for Christmas banquets and a host of other events.
We offer an Altona in Bloom program, a Memory Garden, and two annual festivals – one three-day festival (Manitoba Sunflower Festival), on the last weekend of July and a one-day Winter Festival (Winter Carnival) on the 1st Saturday in February.
