Town of Altona Building Permit Requirements:

• Survey pins or a building location certificate
• Site Plan complete with dimensions
• Undeveloped lots to be staked indiciating new construction. Lines to be strung between survey monuments to verify location of construction.
• Basement walls 40 feet or longer must be enigneer design
• Trusses must be engineered
• Building elevation to be set by building inspector prior to construction
• Complete cross section detail drawing complete with dimensions
• Insulation & vapour barrier plan

Permits Required Prior to Commencement of New Construction

Residential Building Permit

• $2.50 per $1,000.00 of construction value
• minimum fee: $25.00

Commercial Plumbing Permit

• $5.00 per fixture
• $25.00 minimum fee

Commercial Building Permit

• $4.00 per $1,000.00 of construction value
• $50.00 minimum fee

Connection Fees:

• Sewer $75.00
• Water $150.00

Lot Drainage:

• Deposit $1,000.00
• Town of Altona staff will establish lot drainage elevations prior to landscaping of lots.
