MCC AIDS Benefit Concert
Concert will be held in Gretna at MCI's Buhler Hall. There will be two performances with the first starting at 3:00pm and the second at 7:00pm.
Kim Thiessen’s third CD, “Hope Is…” benefiting Mennonite Central Committee’s Generations at Risk program will be released in April. Kim will be in Manitoba to play four concerts. Generations at Risk is MCC’s HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention program, operating in 30 around the world. Travelling with Kim and sharing their stories are Mary Tumbo a Tanzanian woman who is HIV-positive and Jan Emsweiler, an MCC worker in Tanzania.

Altona's Annual "Night of Lights" Christmas Parade
Join friends and family for Altona's Annual Christmas Lights Parade and Tree Lighting. Start at 6:30pm the parade with head south along 6th stree NE, then west on Centre Ave. and then north along Main.
Following the parade, there will be the tree lighting at the Civic Centre. Hot chocolate and cookies, sponsored by the Altona & District Chamber of Commerce, will be available at the mall following the tree lighting. There will also be an empty stocking fund auction held at 8:00pm in front of Fields Mini Mart in the Mall.

The Altona Police Service and the Block Parent Program wish to reinstate the Block Parent Program of Altona.
Please attend to the Altona Mall on October 26th, 2007 to pick up documents to become a Block Parent. Block Parents help to make our community safer.
Being a Block Parent is simply to be there when a child(ren) or seniors are in distress. Block Parents contact police, fire department, family, medical services or whoever might be required. You put the sign in the window when it is suitable and convenient for you.
