| Mayor’s Desk - Melvin H. Klassen |
 |
In my first report to you as Mayor of the Town of Altona, I want to thank you for practicing your democratic right and voting in the civic election held on October 23rd. I also want to thank all of you who allowed your names to be put on the ballet so that the electors of our community could have a choice. Congratulations to all of you who won at the polls. The residents of Altona are placing their confidence in you to represent them on Council in the up-coming four years and I know that
they will all take that responsibility seriously.
The Council of the last four years was committed to concluding the final phases of the Millennium Project which had its initial stages five years ago. During our mandate we will be opening the Exhibition Centre in summer of this coming year. In discussions with the newly elected Council members I sensed that they want to continue to be pro-active and look forward to giving direction in the areas of health care, trails, attracting new industry, affordable housing, upgrading of streets
and building a safe and caring community.
I am hoping that we will work according to this adage:
“We learn from the past, we excel in the present , but we prepare for the future”.

- Do not run the dryer without a lint filter.
- Do not leave the dryer running if you go out, in case it malfunctions.
- Make sure that the air exhaust vent pipe is unobstructed and the outdoor vent flap opens readily.
